I read the first one of this series after it won the Newbery award. When I saw this second book at a book fair in Virginia, I knew I wanted to read it, too.

A fantastic sequel to New Kid! It tackles more tough topics with humor and heart. The ending had me grinning with a full heart.
Also, I loved how the chapter title pages were all spoofs of other middle grade graphic novels and books, so freaking funny!

A great "Drew-centric" sequel to "New Kid", "Class Act" focuses on even more issues that kids - especially kids of color - have to contend with. I really enjoyed these and recommend them for every classroom and kid's library collection!

Class Act was light hearted, heartwarming, and a quick read. I didn't enjoy it quite as much as New Kid, but it was still fun to get to know all of the characters a little better through this story.
