The way I feel about this series of Black Widow can be summer up in one word: "Meh".

Things went down in this book that I should have had an emotional reaction too, but I just didn't feel the connection.

The Best Of: For The Birds (Black Widow #5)

1. The introduction of Tori Raven and her completely sassing the Black Widow. "I did find your man, Natasha. Though I must say I'm not sure he's the type to bring home to ta mere et ton pere."

2. Natasha completely ignoring Tori's sass. Also, I like the implication that everyone knows about Natasha's mission for redemption. It's interesting to see her contrasted by another spy.

3. Natasha's tip on interrogating certain suspects: "Pro tip: (Often learned too late) Don't argue with crazy. Just expect crazy... to be f*****g insane."

4. Maria Hill having complete faith in the Black Widow's abilities (and got her coffee while she has something a little stronger): "The passenger refuses to talk. He's only asked for protection. I've gotten calls from a dozen diplomats already. We'll have to let him go in an hour or so. Before that, we need some information from him. We're drifting now." "And you think I can succeed where you failed?" "I am not paid for uncertainty, Agent. Do your thing."

5. Tori Raven popping back up with some actual useful information (and her delightful sass).

6. I'm not telling you what else happens because this a spoiler free review but OH MY GOD!!! Very epic cliff hanger. Recommended!
