This book was bonkers but I dug it! A smutty why-choose good time. If you’re not into dark romance or bully romances, I’d skip this

The image of Killian angrily making a PB&J is now seared in my brain.

Meh. Good. The humour is entertaining. It’s darker than book one. And the melodrama and organised crime isn’t for me. Not sure if I’ll skim or read book three

This time is the Lords’ turn to get a taste of their own medicine…

Ok… so this was darker than the first book in this trilogy. Still it was very enjoyable. I did find that the first half did seem a bit slower in pace, however it did start to pick up and definitely delivered.

So, after Story finding out what she did at the end of book 1. Here we find her planning her own revenge against the Lords. She’s sick and tired of them and all the torment they put her through. She’s read to start fighting back and that’s exactly what she does.

They say revenge is a dish best served cold and Story delivers that to her Lords. Although she’s not completely cold towards them and she does feel a bit of remorse for what she does. But like Story says, they don’t deserve her guilt.

Obviously, when the Lords found out of Story’s betrayal, they do not take it lightly. And the retaliation is something you couldn’t predict!

We somewhat find out who this mysterious TED is. Or rather who he was for a little while. We then figure out that TED is now a different someone else entirely and even more dangerous.

Even though, so far the Lords - Killian, Tristan & Rath - have been not the best of guys, We do see them develop. I think they’ve figured out that Story means more to them than just some possession and they want her to be with them, if she want to be with them; not because she is being forced to. In the end they give her a choice to leave which she takes…

Also, as mentioned a bit above story takes her revenge on the Lords, which ultimately I think also shows her character’s development. She’s always been a survivor, but at first she took what they threw at her in order to survive.  And by the end, of this book, we see that she is the one making the rules and telling her Lords how things are going to look for the future.

this one was as good as book 1 in the series, although way darker and more twisted. though i love dark romance a lot, this one was, from time to time, really hard to read and made me feel uncomfortable and disgusted a lot. so really check the triggerwarnings here! story is such a badass fmc and i like all the men as well (but rath is my fav forever, that won't change). hopefully, in book 3 we'll finally find out who the real ted is, because i'm going absolutely crazy over that!

There was a part in the middle where I was feeling less intrigued because we were going in the opposite direction of a happy ending, but I LOVE the way it circled back and ended! Can’t wait to start Lords of Mercy tomorrow!
