The brief was very simple; out of the stories you have written, what would David Bowie like to read? That's what Amanda sent to me, and what you will find in this micro short story collection is my best attempt to impress David Bowie. This collection felt more like two friends sitting in a cafe and talking about what kind of worlds and people inhabit their minds. Amanda's world is very different from mine, but we both share a romanticism for the strange, weird and darker side of life, and the flawed characters that move through it. So we held each others hand and she guided me to her Aquarium, where I was able to observe the life of two lovers and their brutal relationship. And she, in turn, was transported back in time to Stilled Longing, where she saw the saddening demise of a young woman confined to a bed with the most horrific of disorders. We were patient during our time inside each others mind. We were respectful of the agony and desolation of our worlds. But more than anything were left remembering these characters long after we returned back to our real worlds. We hope that you do the same. And if nothing else, by purchasing the collection (which should be about 99c) you'll be contributing to a great cause, as all profits go to the International Medical Corp who are the first responders to major tragedies all over the world. Thank you.
