i think it’s my favourite. I really love that throughout the book you come to understand charlie’s character, but also the book teaches you so many things in just 213pgs. i don’t really know how to articulate it but i just feel like i can connect with it and understand charlie because of the way the book is written.

Really beautiful book that uses simple language to make it an easy read. I watched the movie about 5 years ago which spoiled the ending but it was still a massive twist.

reread ten years later and it is still a phenomenal book. I still relate to charlie at twenty-two.

I knew what to expect from The Perks of Being a Wallflower as I had seen the film a few times before reading the book. I’m in two minds about the novel. On the one hand, I like that it addresses difficult topics, but I didn’t get along with the writing style. The best moment was after his sister’s appointment, she and Charlie have a random bout of laughter - it was a lovely thing to happen during a not-so-lovely moment.

P.S. every time Sam had any dialogue, I couldn’t get Emma Watson’s terrible American accent out of my head.
