Quick little novella about Lux, who is the new girl at an Arts school in Harlem. This is the first in a series that focuses on the Flyy Girls, a group of girls at the school.

Short and sweet. I look forward to reading more about the girls. Lux feels very authentic as a teen but the lack of sex and language makes this a book that may work perfectly for upper MG.

I really liked this book because it was shorter, had a lot of characters and a lot going on, but was all really done well and manageable for the reader. I think reading the rest of the series would be a lot of fun to get to see into each of the Flyy Girls! There is some mature content, so definitely a junior high and up read.

Very short read (2 hours). I feel like these are a better Bluford High series that moves quickly, set around high school drama, and can work for many students. Better depictions of students
