A pleasureful ponder. Mary Oliver lets us into the winding journey that is her mind with this poignant recollection on the change of times and the intrinsic traits of being through reflections of nature’s ebb and flow. Proses are as striking as they are nostalgic; just like the smell of the first fallen leaf of autumn with the hint of winter’s breeze.

I love her outlook on life, her appreciation of nature in all its capacities and her insights on literature

4.5⭐️ - Beautifully written it made me want to frolic in the woods with some foxes!! Only nitpick is that the subject matter of the essays jumped around a little bit between literature and nature, in a way that I felt could have flowed more naturally.

I loved most of the nature and animal essays, not as much the ones about writers.
