I will admit I initially did not have high hopes for this book. It started off slow, and I was bored easily, but once I got to page 66 or something, this book did not leave my hands!! I feel like it is hard to make me cry, yet this book did just that. It made me sad and angry while teaching valuable lessons along the way.

A good story about the nature of things and grief

4.5 stars. Short, but intense. Very interesting way of describing grief and the process. I really liked this book. Sad, and any parent's nightmare.

I may have cried through this whole book.

This book was made into a movie in 2016 and the only thing I remembered about it was that my dad had to leave the room through because he could not make it through the story. This was at a time where he was still not quite okay with crying in front of his kids. His mother died of cancer when he was young, early college years I think. When Conor finally faced his truth, I just SOBBED. What a horrible, complicated mess for such a young boy to hold inside himself.
