I did generally enjoy this book, but I'm pretty over reading about fat heroines who are constantly thinking about how ugly they think they are. I really don't enjoy reading someone's negative self-talk when it's every 3rd thought. Is this how the author things fat women should or do think about themselves? Please give me a confident woman who is also fat. Or even one who maybe has a complicated relationship with her body but does actually like parts of it, rather than only thinking 100% negative things about the way she looks.
Harper is awesome. I love her personality and how she knows she has value even when others try to make her feel like she doesn’t.
Dex is cocky and self assured and has his life planned. When Harper messes up all his plans he has to learn to adjust before he loses her.
I loved that Tanner talked him around to his feelings without being a jerk.
It’s a quick read with plenty of steam and fun Aussie slang.

Nice curvy girl rep although it would be great to see someone with curves who wasn’t upset bout and learning to love their size.
Also there’s a racial slur used, it’s meant as a positive thing, but it’s still there

Harper’s stepbrother is a sports reporter and a slime ball that takes every chance to humiliate her in front of other people. One night, after a rugby game, he does his usual routine - what he didn’t count on was Dexter Blake overhearing what he was saying to Harper. Dexter, the knight in not-so-shining rugby shorts, steps up and asks Harper out on a date. She agrees and they hit it off… they make a cute couple who usually stay in and hang out. For the first time, Dexter feels happy, content, and safe to be himself. Harper is outgoing, sexy, and fun - but Dexter wants to concentrate on his rugby career. Having grown up in extreme poverty, the only thing that matters to him is his career and living his dream. But Harper doesn't feel like that, she wants a partner, not a half-life hidden away.
The groveling in this book is a chef’s kiss. Harper makes Dexter work for it and it's beautiful.

Wouldn't recommend this one if you don't like smut. I don't know I didn't enjoy this one very much, I really wish I had too because I was looking forward to reading Dex's story after the first book.
Spoiler
This one was loaded with it even going so far as to incorporate awe of FMC's body into a proposal.

This book was so fun and had me blushing like why don’t authors write more sports romances on rugby. A curvy fmc in a sports romance will always get a four star rating from me 😁
3.75 stars
This was a quick, mostly lighthearted and steamy read. Minor fake dating + friends with benefits in an Aussie sports setting, which definitely has a different feel to the usual US sports romance! Probably the slang. I haven’t come across many Australian romance novels but this was fun.
