Love letter to reading. Emotional and I LOVED Makesh.

I did think the Aleisha storyline was a tad underdeveloped. I also found her physical reactions to her mother confusing as there seemed to be no explanation.

This was such a heartwarming book! I loved the friendship that developed between Aleisha and Mukesh, I feel like it's pretty uncommon to see a friendship between a young woman and an older man. I think this book does a great job speaking about grief, and how reading helps you understand yourself, others, and the world. This is definitely a book for book lovers, and I look forward to reading it again in the future!

Beautiful and gutting at the very same time. As a lover of books, this one brilliantly explains why we love books the way we do. It is a tender story about a list of books that impacts so many people tremendously. I felt seen by the author — understanding and explaining so many reasons why I’ve come to love reading and books so much.

I really liked this. It was heartwarming and charming. The friendships that blossomed were lovely. Some thing were expected, but not in a bad way. Made me want to (re)read the books on the reading list and go to my local library. I’d recommend this for anyone who just needs a bit of love in their lives. Plus, the last words are ones to leave by.

I feel it's important to note first of all that this book does discuss suicide, mental health issues and racism.

As someone who is just getting back into reading, reading a book about other characters also starting to read more was really inspiring, I felt really connected to the characters because of this. I enjoyed how the characters learned from each of the books they read in different ways, and how the two main characters learned/viewed things differently based on their own perspective.

This book did contain some heavy themes but dealt with them beautifully and I still felt safe and comfortable reading this.
