I very much enjoyed this creepy and imaginative selection of stories examining themes of motherhood, mixed-race identity and bodily fluids (lots of blood). I'm looking forward to seeing a longer form project from this author!

I am not a usual fan of short stories but this collection was thoroughly enjoyable to read. It is so beautiful to see Pacific wahine sharing their stories, especially when our histories and mythologies are told by our own people.
I especially enjoyed the opportunity to learn more about Hawaiian culture through the references in this collection. It was really interesting to draw the constant connections, between these stories and words, of our various islands that are distinct but ever interlinked.
