This is a touching story about a young girls struggle to come to terms with her mother's death, and her own life in the role of a mother. While Katie's mother died when she was quite young, she never truly dealt with the emotions of it. Katie largely ignored the impact of this death, and her shaky relationship with her father until she went away to university. Falling in love and becoming a mother herself made Katie wake up and take control. She discovered who she was, and who she wanted to be. A story of growing up, self-discovery and hope. At times I felt the story was a little drawn out, but overall and enjoyable read.
