3.5

The Birds of Azalea Street - Nova Ren Suma. 3.5 stars. Good story but some of the narrating character's comments really annoyed me.
In the Forest Dark and Deep - Carrie Ryan. 5 stars. Absolutely brilliant twist on Alice in Wonderland. Ended up being my main source of inspiration for a piece of work for university.
Emmeline - Cat Winters. 4 stars. Really good, but I docked one star because I predicted the twist and I didn't care much for it.
Verse Chorus Verse - Leigh Bardugo. 3.5 stars. Struggled with stars for this one because it was so good but I also had so many issues with it.
Hide-and-Seek - Megan Shepherd. 3 stars. Honestly would've preferred a longer version of this.
The Dark, Scary Parts and All - Danielle Paige. 1 star. Yikes. All the stories before were creepy and food and this one was just cringy paranormal romance shit from 2012.
The Flicker, The Fingers, The Beat, The Sigh - April Genevieve Tucholke. 4 stars. I loved the story, was fully ready for it to be my favourite but then it ends in the most fucking boring as shit way? Like, I wanted more!
Fat Girl With A Knife - Jonathan Maberry. 2 stars. I hate zombie stories, so this one wasn't really starting lucky anyway. The character's backstory added nothing to her character? Like, yeah she got bullied for being fat but that doesn't influence much of the story? Plus, we didn't get to see too much of the "slasher girl" aspect in this, I personally felt. Even though she killed 3 people lol.
Sleepless - Jay Kristoff. 4 stars.  This was so good! I do wish we got more elaboration in parts but I totally get why we didn't due to the limited POV.
M - Stefan Bachmann. 5 stars. Fucking powerful women. Wanted more of an explanation regarding how Misha lost her sight, but eh, god-fucking-sent story. Favourite from the entire collection!
The Girl Without A Face - Marie Lu. 1 star. Oh boy, what a depressing introduction to Marie Lu. This had such a good premise but nothing was explained and that just fucking pissed me off. I got to the end and fully just scoffed.
A Girl Who Dreamed of Snow - McCormick Templeton. 3 stars. Good story but feels so out of place. Not only that, but I really didn't care for any of the characters.
Stitches - A.G. Howard. 5 stars. 2nd favourite in all of the collection. The Collector deserves better.
On the I-5 - Kendare Blake. 3 stars. Didn't really care, like, at all, lol.
So ranking them in order; 1) M, 2) Stitches, 3) In the Forest Dark and Deep, 4) Sleepless, 5) The Flicker, The Fingers, The Beat, The Sight, 6) Emmeline, 7) The Birds of Azalea Street, 8) Verse Chorus Verse, 9) Hide-and-Seek, 10) On the I-5, 11) A Girl Who Dreamed of Snow, 12) Fat Girl With A Knife, 13) The Girl Without A Face and 14) The Dark, Scary Parts and All
