Did not love as much as Historical Corrections and I wish some of the stories had more room to breathe

I think Danielle Evans is an amazing writer and I love short story collections but something in this didn't quite hit for me. Her sentence structures have me reading the same sentences 5 times in a row and drawing a blank. I wish she had used some commas or hyphens or something.

Absolutely fantastic and thought-provoking collection of stories. “Snakes” is the standout hit, and left me breathless and wanting more. However, some of the stories were very decent but not quite as fully developed. I definitely prefer this author’s second collection (The Office of Historical Corrections) over this one, but both books are well worth the read.
