Romantic and weird. all the sprinkles of history, theory, and facts were curious and neat. experimental but i wasnt put off. maybe i wouldve liked more if it were a little longer/more cohesive.
I truly loved all the parts written about her friend.

Only made it about half way through before I couldn't handle it anymore. It's almost like you spent years telling people you were going to write a book about your love of blue, but never really wrote anything until after a devastating break-up, so this is the crap you wrote instead.

Don't know how to feel about this one. I tore through this book in just a couple of sittings, while still questioning whether or not I actually liked it. I appreciated what Nelson was trying to get at but I don't think her message ever truly "got" there. Yes a subtle life lesson buried within scattered anecdotes is very poignant or whatever but it all blurred together for me by the end. I just wish some of the writing was stronger and/or dug a bit deeper.
I don't think it was terrible either, read if you just had a bad breakup maybe, you might like it then.
