Again, much like the last book I loved the extra details in the formatting.  The little details like that are really lovely.

This book started out a bit cliché, I mean asking a teenager to help find your missing (possibly dead) brother seems totally full proof.  However, I did get invested after a while and the plot really went in a different direction than I was expecting.  The “who did it” was a bit random but it was entertaining to read about the journey.

Pip having a true-crime podcast totally fits her vibe.  If she doesn’t become a detective after this I’m going to scream because she’s doing the whole police departments job at this point.

"Mysteries always seem to find their way to you, don't they?" - p. 130

Now THIS is what I call a sequel! It's been a minute since I read the first book in the series, but Holly Jackson does a great job at dropping you back into this small town with more secrets than it can keep. Pip has vowed to attempt to solve a crime again for her safety as well as the safety of those she holds dear; however, as the quote states, mysteries find their way to her doorstep. Connor, one of the kids in her grade, approaches her and begs her to help find his missing brother. Since no one else will help him, she decides she must take on this missing person's case. Jackson carefully lays out the clues for this case as the trial for events in the previous book plays out in the background. I loved the podcast element of this book as well. The ending is a mixed back of emotions but I simply cannot wait to see what Pippa gets up to in the final installment of this series.

The book had a slow-burning start, but after the plot twist, the ending paced up and was emotional af.

🎧 Holly Jackson does an amazing job in maintaining continuity, suspense and thriller in her second book 'Good Girl, Bad Blood'. While the mystery is different, the plot evolves with a new type of thrill and intensity, keeping the overarching story feeling consistent.

🎧 Pip, the young, amateur detective, continues to be lovable and inspiring. Jackson excels at making the reader continue to love Pip due to the strong character development.

🎧 Very enjoyable read with twists that tied together really well towards the ending. The second book, being the bridge between the debut and the finale of the series is so well written, making the reader excited to read the sequel!
