I'm giving an extra .25 for the art. This is quite the interesting retelling of Mary Shelley's life. I didn't know quite how tangled it was, and especially dotted with such pain and torment. The art was really good and the way that she crafted the poetry was equally as entrancing. Quite the book!

I learned so much from this.

Mary's life is told in a series of poems, paired with black and white paintings. This gave me a clearer sense of what she went through that anything else I've read.

Her life was filled with immense sadness; so many disappointing, hypocritical men making choices that limited and hurt her--her father, Percy Shelley, and Lord Bryon. Trigger warning: infant loss.

Loved seeing how her experience shaped her creation, and how the success of Frankenstein was a vindication for her.

Beautiful, bleak, and enlightening.
