Vasilisa Petrovna

I don't have many words at the moment. It will take me some time to form my final thoughts and try to explain the beauty of strength and faith that Vasilisa Petrovna had. It's been a long time since reading about such a moving story.

Like what, how do I do this? I am at such a loss. I don't want to ever part with her story.

I'm in awe of how Vasilia dealt with the constant conflict, grief and loss. It is strange to think that in the first novel, her only real goal was to be free, travel, and see all the corners of the world. Not be tied down by marriage. The pacing was perfect. We start with a strange girl treated as an outsider who loves to run into the forest and talk to invisible creatures. And see her grow into this now amazing, strong-willed, defiant, intelligent, fierce, fighting against the associated gender roles and continuously sacrificing herself for others and ending with her being known as the witch of winter. Like talk about excellent character development. As she grew, the world around her did too.

Also, Vasya's character just raised the bar tremendously, and she has now become one of my favourite characters.
