Ogni volta che termino un libro di Statovci (mi era successo lo stesso per [b:Le transizioni|51486008|Le transizioni|Pajtim Statovci|https://i.gr-assets.com/images/S/compressed.photo.goodreads.com/books/1582210286l/51486008._SY75_.jpg|50405160]) ho la sensazione che manchi qualcosa. Sicuramente (anche) Gli invisibili è un libro ben scritto, appassionante, che si legge agilmente e in poco tempo (complice anche la lunghezza molto limitata). Ma alcune scelte stilistiche, così come alcune caratteristiche dei personaggi protagonisti non mi hanno fatto apprezzare fino in fondo questo romanzo che prende avvio in Kosovo, nei momenti che precedono lo scatenarsi della guerra. In un bar di Pristina si incontrano Arsim (che è Albanese) e Milos (che è Serbo) e i due si innamorano. Mentre Milos studia per diventare dottore, Arsim è sposato con una donna. Tuttavia, non sarà questo l’unico (né il più grande) ostacolo alla loro storia d’amore. Un racconto che si aggiunge ai contributi che fanno riflettere sull’insensatezza, sulla crudeltà e sulla violenza delle guerre, reali e metaforiche.

"Yksinäisyys kuorii ihmisen ulos ihostaan, leikkaa kielen ja hylkää hitaasti haihtumaan lukitun huoneen ilmaan."
The language used is so versatile and poetic especially in Finnish. The characters are written in a brutally honest way. The methaphoric story about Bolla makes you think like never before. And after the book was read, all I felt was pure confusion, awe, sadness and disgust at the same time. This book left me speechless.
