Hm. Tja. Schon gut, aber auch irgendwie wieder nicht. Und damit meine ich nicht nur das Ende, das ein bissle zu sehr "hingerotzt" wirkte, als habe die Autorin fertig werden wollen und noch einen "positiven Twist" reinbringen. Aber ich mochte Franny irgendwie so gar nicht, ich glaube, wäre ich ihr im wahren Leben begegnet, wäre ich ihr wohl aus dem Weg gegangen.

Die Naturbeschreibungen waren aber in der Tat sehr schön und poetisch und während des Hörens habe ich verstärkt auf die Vögel geachtet, die ich so bei meinen Spaziergängen gesehen habe. Den deutschen Titel und das Cover finde ich aber ausnahmsweise mal ausgesprochen gelungen, besser als das englische Buch. Ich denke, ich werde weitere Bücher von Frau McConaghy durchaus auch noch lesen.

Never felt warmer reading a book with so much cold. Absolutely stunning and beautiful. Also I'd bet money they will adapt this book into a movie. You heard it here first.

a bit too on-the-nose, sad girl porn for me. i’m not
quite the target audience but i did not feel the emotional depth the McConaghy was probing for.

How can you be in a world with mass extinction and rising sea levels, but still dock at the same ports? 
How many tines are you going to tell people the Mc is a wanderer? It's giving "iM sooooooo SpEcHuLlll" vibes, and I really don't understand its popularity. 

Been a long time since I was so disappointed with a book.

This is an absolutely stunning book. It’s rich and SAD and thought provoking and romantic and mysterious, to name a few. It’s going to haunt me for a long time.
