Good but it doesn't seemed finished. Her books are always sad. Or at least the few I've read are.

Oi vay! Forced myself to finish this light read - it's summer, a quick romantic mystery is fun, right?
Well, not so much. Hated the main character, Kayla was drawn as shallow as the low tide. Her friend Antionette was a monster, for damaging a young man and then deciding to bear a second child so she (Antionette) had another chance at motherhood. And at no time on the story did the reader have a chance to care about Antoinette except as an exotic mystery who turned out to be selfish personified.
Enough. Don't waste your time.

I couldn’t finish this one. One of the worst books I’ve read in years.

I'm giving it 2 stars because I couldn't put it down trying to figure out what happened, however, don't read this. Elin's later books are much better.

With this listen, I hit 100 audio books!

This was more of a mystery than I expected.

Poor definitions of friendship.

Borrowed on Hoopla through JCPL.

Listening length 10 hr, 30 min

Am I being gaslit into thinking this is a “love story”??

I LOVED Hotel Nantucket with my whole heart and I had high expectations for this one but wtf? The relationships in this book were GROSS and Elin tried to write Theo’s POV as a man scorned by true love but he was GROOMED by a child predator. It was not love, it was a lonely old lady taking advantage of a kid in high school and he became obsessed with her because she kept him at arms length and introduced him to “manhood”. No warm, fuzzy feelings towards these characters at all. The friendships sucked, Kayla was insecure and weak and the ending was annoying. There’s no way Antoinette deserved any forgiveness.
