One of my favorite firefly books. Satisfying and even dark at times. Loved it!

Another well-rounded "bonus" episode of 'Firefly' in book form. It doesn't do anything remarkable with the characters or the setting, but it passed the time.

This is the first of the Firefly books I've read; I didn't know there was a whole EU until recently. So I can't speak to any of the others, but this one absolutely does feel like it could have come right out of the show. Every character's internal monologue, as well as the dialogue, is pretty much spot-on (special points for a River narration that is clearly written with so much love for the character) and the conflict feels very much like something that could've happened in the on-screen 'verse. It's fun, fast-paced, righteous, and adds a couple of lovely flourishes as MK hallmarks, including a no-big-deal minor nonbinary character whose pronouns are never questioned and a fight that ends up being against misogyny, adding depth to the girlbossiness of Whedon's creation.
