A really strong gritty horror thriller about cycles of violence that luckily also features descriptions worthy of an 80s gore fest and cosmic horror both. Also a biker gang is featured, always cool.

Unlike most reviewers, I thought this book was a decent read. I also thought each fight had a purpose to push along the story and didn't find them too repetitive. However, I was very unhappy with the ending. A lot of things are left unexplained and not in a fun, mysterious way. It almost seems like the author was tired and didn't want to put in the effort to fill in the blanks.
At the end, when Jonah confronts Nell about what happened at the house and she completely shuts down, that proved very little, if any, character growth at all.
In addition, I found the main characters unlikable and reading their dialog annoyed and frustrated me. They were such dicks to each other for no reason.

A book with zero character development can be forgiven if the writing or the plot is good enough, but that is not this book. The supernatural element is also very shallow, taking a backseat to the endless pages of people punching each other. I regret reading the whole thing.
