Pretty good; overall basic overview. It took me a bit to get into it, as the writing is a bit more academic than I expected. Once I was 50 pages in, the pace and writing improved. I am not sure if I adjusted to the style or the style adjusted.

A strength is that the book was written five years after Kerouac's death, by someone who knew him in high school, and then reconnected late in life. Another strength was the personal photographs, and the discussion about the impact post On The Road books had sales wise on Kerouac.
