Miranda isn’t here to shack up with some alien just because everyone else is doing it. She likes her freedom and has zero plans to give it up. But while she’s off doing her own thing, she ends up face-to-face with Drak—a massive, silent alien who’s been living in exile and clearly doesn’t believe in personal space.

Drak has spent years abandoned and alone. Revenge was the only thing keeping him going… until Miranda shows up. Now, protecting her takes priority—and he’s not interested in letting her go.

I love this series, and I always look forward to the mix of action and romance. But I have to be honest—this one didn’t hit quite like the others. Something in the Miranda/Drak dynamic felt a little off for me. Maybe it was the isolation? Maybe I just missed the fun group chaos that usually balances out the romance? 🤷‍♀️ I can’t pinpoint it, but something about it lacked the spark I’ve come to expect.

Still, even a “not-my-fave” book in this series is a fun, spicy read. The pacing was good, the world-building continues to grow in interesting ways, and the heat level was exactly what I wanted. Not a favorite, but definitely not a miss either. 👽🔥

Definitely one of my top favorites in Ella Maven’s Drixonian series!

I really loved how the relationships between the characters other than the main pairing unfolded. The slice of life scenes were so adorable, and I’m a sucker for the whole language/communication barrier trope being played out well in Miranda and Drak’s story specifically.

Miranda and Drak are independent in their own ways— Drak because he was wrongfully cast out and Miranda because she suffers from eldest daughter syndrome and feels the need to carry the weight of the world on her shoulders. I get it.

I liked the whole “alone in the forest with a hunky capable virgin alien while I heal” premise to their relationship developing.
The technical mistakes were minimal in this book, maybe a few clunky lines here and there, but overall, it was delightful!

I was really hoping for a full on Miranda being Drak’s attorney scene testifying in a small Drixonian court, but what we got was still nice— truth and justice!

A happily ever after for lovable characters.

Adorable

And we love a wild man!!! I loved Drak's story. It was so interesting to see how he changed after his banishment. Some of the story rushed a little bit, but I still LOVE these books!
