This book was hella cute and I definitely was getting emotional at the end. But some of the stuff in the middle was TOO dramatic for me. I don’t know if that was on purpose because of the ‘world’ that it inhabits, you know, Hollywood and such. But it just felt a little too dramatic.

Will Abby Jimenez ever write a book that doesn’t make me cry like a baby? All signs point to no!

Side note: you do not have to read the friend zone in order to enjoy this, it reads fine as a stand alone. HOWEVER the love and appreciation for Sloane is amplified x100000 if you do.
Side note 2: it really, really bothers me that they chose to name him “Jackson Waters” when there’s already a band by that name, it did mess me up at the beginning but I cannot detract a star for it.

If you're a fan of romance, you'll love this! Jimenez does a great job capturing the feeling of falling in love, especially when it catches you by surprise. I appreciated the timeliness she chose for Sloan and Jason's relationship, it was fun seeing so them in so many different settings and stages. I balled my eyes out during many points. I'm still thinking about this book, and I probably will be for awhile!

A wonderful book where two creatives are brought together by a crazy doggo.
Strangers to lovers, second chance after strains on a relationship.  This book is so well written. The romance itself so wholesome.
Dealing with themes of grief and also lying to protect others are dealt with alongside developing communication to be good together as a couple.  I love this book and would definitely reccomend

Another poignant story! This one balances the light the and heavy that comes with life. A hopeful story that unfolds about our FMC finding love after loss.

In this book we get to see Sloan's character be fleshed out as well as meet Jason. Kristen continues to be a central character and I was happy to see her and peak into her life after her "happily ever after". Josh unfortunately sort of faded to a side character, I was hoping to get to know him better from the outside since their book really focused on Kristen.

I enjoyed Sloan and Jason's character development and complicated and nuanced reactions to real relationship barriers (not everyone is a rockstar but jobs have been known to transfer people or require travel).

This book got emotional reactions out of me such as- smiling, laughing, and crying.

Ms. Jiminez continues to cement her place as one of my favorite contemporary romance authors, and not just because she’s from Minnesota and often sets portions of her books there. This book continues a story thread developed in the Thread Zone. Sloan’s fiancé was killed by a drunk driver in a motorcycle accident just as they were about to wed and as the book opens two years later, Sloan has not moved on despite the encouragement of her close friends.

The story begins as a dog, Tucker, jumps into her car and won’t leave her alone. She tries to track down the owner, but he’s not responding to her calls and texts. Turns out he’s a rock star with a growing fan base and was off grid for two weeks.  It’s a bumpy start but the sparks flies as they talk and text.

Yes, the meet cute is twee, but there’s quite a bit of heavy stuff including addiction and the price of fame.  Loved how both characters grow as people as well as how engaged the side characters without taking over the story.  Another great one by Ms Jiminez 4.25
