Absolutely amazing! I loved every minute of Obsidian Feathers!

The enriched detail of latin and indigenous culture that was weaved into this magical world was truly breathtaking!

N. Caceres debut novel is perfection!

My love of monster romance, obscure cryptids (hello Cadejos, where have you been my entire life?) and Meso-American culture should have made this an insta-read, but I kept pushing it off because of the CW's. I'm not someone who usually has triggers or subjects that I avoid when reading, but for some reason this one made me pause. Now that I finally made the leap (Thanks Monster Romance Reviews!), I don't know what I was waiting for. This book is an absolute masterpiece. There is so much depth to the characters...are they likeable, no not necessarily, but they are PERFECT in the context of this story. To be clear there is definitely an HEA, but it is a cruel and violent path to that HEA but I couldn't think of a better path for them.

I will not hesitate to dive into the next books in the series, head first and without a life jacket.

I absolutely loved this book. Enjoyed every chapter up until the last! The last chapter made me want to throw my kindle. Which is why I rated it 4/5. This book seems to be a standalone but I felt it ending on a cliffhanger, like who is the broken goddess? Ughhh. But again still a good book overall just don’t read the last chapter lol (jk)

A great read!

I really enjoyed this book! One of the few Latin American romances I've read where I felt a connection with the culture and mannerisms because it hit so close to home. Can't wait for the next one!

this was the disappointment of the year. i was really excited to read about the native culture, but the alpha(shit, abusive)-male was too much. this is unhealthy obsession, it can never be more than that after struggling through the 36% of the book i managed to read.
the final drop was this scene from the male's pov:
You do not need them anymore.” I flicked the container open and reared back at the stench.
They smelled like death. I dumped the first compartment out into the pool of water.
“Sal. I need those! I need them for my ADHD!”
Turning to her, I glared up and down. “You will get over it.”
“That’s not how that works!” She clawed at my wrists as I flicked the last of the compartments into the toilet and barked a snarl back at her.
“You don’t need them.”
“Yes, I do! I can’t focus without them!”
“Try harder,” I snarled, pushing past her and out of the bedroom.
“You’re such a dick! I hate you!” Tears swam in her chestnut gaze as I turned to her.
“You’ll get over it.” I slammed the door behind me and headed out into the courtyard.
I needed space
🫠no, no, absolutely, not, i'm out
