So I did like it. The romance between the main characters is wonderfully written and I love them. I love the concept and the world of this book. The issue I have with it is that it’s a bit boring and repetitive at times. From other reviews, I’ve heard that the second book is even worse with that so I don’t think I’ll be finishing this series.

"But what the Demon King and his court do not understand is that paper is flammable.
And there is a fire catching among us.”

TW: Rape and Sexual Assault.

This book is dark. I wasn’t expecting it to be so intense, especially for a YA, so I guess that can make it not everyones cup of tea.
I did enjoy it overall, I liked the world building and the forbidden love.

I wish the characters of Wren and Lei were more fleshed out than they were.
