This book is dark. I wasn’t expecting it to be so intense, especially for a YA, so I guess that can make it not everyones cup of tea.
I did enjoy it overall, I liked the world building and the forbidden love.
I wish the characters of Wren and Lei were more fleshed out than they were.

Beautifully written and gracefully takes on dark / heavy topics. The plot was captivating and the world building (it’s a Malaysian inspired fantasy) was really cool and was integrated into the story naturally.
