This book was incredible! It captivated me from the start and kept me hooked until the very end. The thing I loved most about it? How real it was. How Saffron made living with depression not such a bad thing. I'm lucky to say that I do not suffer from any mental illnesses, but I have family members who do and I've seen how hard their lives have been because of it. Living with any mental illness is, but the way Saffron showed with therapy and medication it can make life worth living makes me smile. It's not easy and you have to be a fighter, but with people who care about you, you can do it. I loved everything about Simon and Willow's relationship. They just fit together, even when they should have never looked at each other as more. I absoulety loved Simon's possessiveness and the way he was with Willow, my heart! His past was heartbreaking and how he came through was beautiful. This whole book was about acceptance and being able to overcome past and present demons. It was a touching book, I felt everything, but it was also a hot and steamy read! I cannot wait to read Vi's story!
Something about the writing in this book made it special for me.saffron Kent is one hell of a writer because there was never a boring moment in this book. Medicine man is a forbidden romance between a therapist and his 18 year old patient. Both of their issues made their relation seem more realistic in a way. They weren’t perfect, but they had each other. Willow is a sweet and strong woman. I admired her character so much. The epilogue was really sweet. Definitely recommend this.
As my second Saffron Kent read, I knew I could go in with high expectations and not be let down. And I was right! This story was full of emotional highs and lows that brought me to tears and many points and to full blown laughter at others.
⠀
The instant connection between Simon and Willow had me on the edge of my seat for this slow and torturous burn. As her psychiatrist, they both know that their passion is wrong. It’s forbidden. But they cannot control what they feel for one another. Will they heal or will they hurt?
⠀
The strength these characters exhibit in this story, and the emotional depth to the underlying themes carried this forbidden love story with such precision. I truly felt connected to Willow on a deep level. Books that explore themes of mental health are so relatable and create a larger focus for the storyline than just another romance. Absolutely fantastic!

Okay, let's talk about this deliciously forbidden and angsty age gap romance by Saffron A. Kent. Saffron's writing is unmatched. Her prose captivates me and keeps me fully immersed in her story from start to finish. Medicine Man was my 2nd book by her and I really enjoyed it!
This book was all consuming and had me feeling so frustrated (almost to the point where I wanted to stop reading). However what I loved most, even more than the romance, was the journey of Willow Taylor. Her story was inspiring and enthralling. I was rooting for her from page 1. Her growth was so admirable and she was a perfect heroine in my eyes.
What I didn't love was Simone. I know that he had a complicated past but I think that because we did not get a lot of his perspective, it was difficult to feel compassion and empathy for him (until the last few chapters).
Anyways, I thought this book was a spicy and taboo delight with layers of depth that pleasantly surprised me!

Willow and Simon were a great match together. The way SAK built Willow was so good. The way Willow's grippy sock vacation goes is honestly refreshing. Simon stocking the library with her requests was so freaking adorable.
To me Willow was very much a relatable character since she wasn't 100% perfect in every way.

This was an interesting but good read! You definitely have to go into the book with an open mind because it can definitely make you uncomfortable at first. The book is about a young woman who falls in love with her psychiatrist at the mental hospital where she is a patient. Definitely check out the TWs before reading this book as some of the subjects may be triggering. I did the audio but I wasn’t too crazy about the female narrator. I think I would’ve enjoyed the book more if I actually read it.
