Great story so far. I've found the plot and characters so far less interesting than Qi Ye, Sha Po Lang, and Golden Terrace, but that's a pretty high standard. Excited to read the next volumes.

I didn’t know what to expect starting this book, but I’m overall not disappointed. There are many slow moments, and it’s dense with politics, but I find the characters lively. The relationship between the two male leads is a complex one that I’m still unsure how to feel about, though I think this is more to do with how the writer writes earlier interactions. I’m happy to continue reading to find out more, though!
