I spent 400 pages watching these two verbally edge each other, and I can’t say I’m too upset with the ending.

So much happened in this book I’m baffled that this series is somehow 8 books, but I’m interested to see how it continues

This was political intrigue to the max, and it was great. I love watching rich, powerful people scheme and watching all that eventually crumble. Yum. 

This was also legitimate enemies to lovers, which was awesome. And spanded over several month (with even a 5 year time jump at the beginning) which makes individual growth and growing feelings just soooo much more believable and valid. 

I'm obsessed with Zechuan and Chiye both. Both of the dudes are just pawnson a board, but scheming at their own individual games while grudgingly getting attached to each other, and I'm living for it. 

I already ordered the other 2 volumes that are already released.
