If I could rate it more than 5 ⭐️ I’d definitely do it! This was one of the best books I’ve read in 2024! The plot, the schemes, the tension between the MCs! I loved it all! It was a bit tough at the beginning with the war lexicon since English is not my native language but it was nothing impossible! There are a lots of names and clans to remember but it’s really doable! Can’t wait for the second volume! I AM STILL SCREAMING AAA

I really enjoyed the world building and political intrigue, it did take a while to remember which character was which. It's refreshing for one of the MCs to be upfront about his attraction, I was expecting like extreme slowburn but they had sex by the end of the first novel! Shen Zechuan and Xiao Chiye are such a funny dynamic lowkey I'm looking forward to see their relationship develop.

I will be completely real with you, this has potential to become one of my top danmei. I need Shen Zechuan so bad you have no idea.
I am just scared I will not be able to keep up with the politics... Especially with several months between volumes.

But by god with every mention of Lanzhou's neck I was horny gripping my thigh. How can circumstance forge a man like that. I need him.
