After having read Ariadne, my first book into Greek Mythology, it piqued my interest to pick up another greek mythology book and I am no disappointed.

The writing is beautiful, especially Circe's motherhood and her pov as a parent who wishes to protect her son as much as possible, to realise that that might not be the best course of action for he seeks greater knowledge beyond what was on the island he dwells.

Highly recommend for anyone who wishes to venture into greek mythology.

a total masterwork of introspection and the importance of balancing self-reliance and community!! follows ancient greece's favourite witch-goddess as she navigates godly narcissism, isolation, love, trauma, and motherhood armed with endless spells and crackling determination. a closer examination of one of the most mysterious and under-discussed figured in mythology. so good!!!

(Read this for School)
Very poetic writing, its so descriptive and feels like water flowing over my brain. One thing is that it claims to be a feminist retelling, and although there are themes of feminism, I feel like it shows more of what its like to be a woman and is somewhat a cautionary tale.

I loved this updated, feminist themes retelling of so many Greek myths that we have heard so much about. The characters were compelling and I loved the author's portrayal of the Gods and the inner workings of their divinity. Very well done, I really enjoyed this book.

As someone with a limited knowledge of Greek mythology I think it is a different experience to read this book, but not necessarily a worse one. The twists and turn were all the more intriguing and exciting. I listened to this book and the narrator did such a fantastic job of bringing circe alive as she had such a majestic way of reading. I enjoyed it more as it went on for certain and by the end was completely captivated by the world. I loved how nature and animals are described, and the complicated nature of good and bad.
