Too much InstaLove, I mean the characters themselves mention love at first sight. There is some chemistry and debate between the MCs over female autonomy in the new Victorian Era, but it all seems to come back to "she's the most beautiful woman I've ever seen" and "her heaving bosom" of course. There is also the requisite disapproving proper step-mother and the sister who falls for the "ineligible" gentleman.

2 stars because the hero had a minor personality change during the proposal, but +1 bonus star for some decent Darcy-lite groveling from him afterwards.

Setting:  Somerset, England 1892 (but it felt earlier)
Book Source: Cuyahoga County Overdrive
