It's not the best book ever, but it somehow grabbed my attention and didn't let go (I listened to the dramatized audiobook on audible, 100% recommend)

This book definitely should have been 300 pages shorter. The characters were awful, the plot was awful (it took 225 pages for anything interesting to happen), and overall the whole experience of reading it was awful. The blatant misogyny was disturbing and the main character was disgusting. I’ve wasted 3 weeks of my life reading this pos for school. I also vehemently hated Winston. Reading his perspective made me feel dirty and gross because of how sexist he was. His view of women is awful to read about as a woman myself. I never liked him once which sucks because the whole book revolves around him.
