This is the second time I have read this book and I enjoyed it so much more than the first time I read it. The intricacies of the world that has been created are immaculate. The ties throughout the book from minor inconveniences to major plotlines is impressive, especially from a book written in 1949. It is more relevant today than potentially ever. A must classic.

the book itself was rather interesting and had a lot of well thought out ideas in it. this could include the concept that is limiting language which in turn will limit human thought/consciousness. i think personally this was my favorite idea in the book because it really made me think about how if i can increase my understanding of language and the depth of the english language i can better understand my thoughts. overall some of the negatives in my opinion was that orwell sometimes went on and on about certain topics that simply made the book boring to read. if you are interested in societal issues and concepts i think this book is worth a read. it is also pretty short (: if this made no sense to you, thennnnn eat my socks.

This is my first dystopian novel. I was shook by the bare description of the portrayal of human nature. The book was very easy to understand. The author puts his finger right on many of the uncomfortable truths about human nature. Even in an ordinary person's life, there is use of DOUBLETHINK, and we crave to love an almighty single person, even if such a person was non-existent. Some things in the novel are true, even in 2015, the power struggle will probably never end. I am wiser after reading this book.
