A fantastic final book to the incredible Discworld collection. The first 3 or so chapters in this book have to be the most solemn and moving words I have ever read (probably because I stick to fantasy, science fiction and horror novels). I won't say anymore as that would spoil things.
this isn’t quite a finished book by terry pratchett standards, but as the author’s final work it’s fittingly bittersweet.
brb while i go mourn finishing the entire series.

I love Tiffany Aching, and I'm very sorry for all of us that there won't be more. I'm glad to say, however, that this is a pretty complete book. Yes, it could have gone on, as the note at the end says, but this is no cobbled-together-from-notes posthumous novel. Bless Terry Pratchett, I hope he's having fun wherever he is!

Being a witch is a man’s job: that’s why it needs women to do it.
Saying goodbye is hard. It took me a long, long time to read this book, because every time I opened it, it brought me that much closer to the end. And I didn't want the book to end. Because this is it. This is the last Discworld story from Sir Terry. And I wasn't ready for that.
The Shepherd's Crown is not as polished as some of the Disc's stories. In fact, it's not as polished as some of the other Tiffany Aching stories. But it is a fitting final work, full of the same humor and pathos that have formed the core of these stories for over 40 books.
It's a good book. It's a good story. But don't read it because of that. Read it because this is Sir Terry's goodbye letter and it's a warm farewell from a friend.

A re-read from when I was a teen and one that makes me want to ensure all young ones read it too - so many life lessons masterfully woven in entertaining & sincere stories.
Many thanks to Terry Pratchett for the Wee Free man and for Tiffany Aching. He will be sorely missed.
