Pratchett's final book ushers the Discworld into a new era, showing change across the continent.
SpoilerAn old witch dies, and a new one takes her place; elves rebel; and a boy wants to become a witch.

As the epilogue explains, Terry Pratchett didn't get the same time to tweak, revise, and copiously footnote (there were some, but not as many as usual), but there were still plenty of appalling puns and not-so-subtle references.

Since having my first Migraine with 13 I listen to the audio books by Terry Pratchett. And this has to be one of my favourites. (Especially because I'm also in Media Publishing and Williams thoughts about the press hit very close to home).

Terry Pratchett is a master of the sword - excuse me - pen. His ability to describe complicated thoughts by using relatable people, funny jokes and writes just so wholesome.

I love how his discworld is so full of wonder and fantasy but his characters seem so more human than characters in thrillers sometimes.

I just really like him 馃槉馃槉

I really liked the Tiffany Aching series of YA books, and this is a very fine final book for both the series, and Terry's work as a whole.

While I was reading this story of transitions, of a new generation taking on the mantle of a previous generation, and finding their own way and wisdom - I couldn't help feeling the poignancy of this being the last Discworld book Terry Pratchett wrote. Was he also thinking about legacy, transitions, and valuing his own way of being in the world? I wonder ..

Brilliant, simple, moving.
It's hard not to wonder whether Terry Pratchett knew this would be his last book while he wrote it. From the start, the tone is elegiac; there is a sense that an era is passing - not only in the real world, as we say goodbye to a great author, but in the Discworld itself. Tiffany Aching has grown up, she's leaving home, and so are we.
The Discworld series started out as a light satire of the Fantasy genre, but overtime it evolved into a sharp critique of modern society. As ever, intolerance, prejudice and selfishness are the main villains for Pratchett, and only by overcoming these traits are the witches able to move forward and save the day.
As Tiffany does in the book, instead of mourning the passing of a loved one, we should celebrate what he left behind; his worlds and words live on.

Ostatni tom 艢wiata Dysku. Ostatni.

Nie b臋dzie wi臋c drug膮 babci膮, b臋dzie Tiffany, najwa偶niejsz膮 czarownic膮. Ale jest jeszcze problem z elfami. W elfim 艣wiecie 藕le si臋 dzieje - rewolta obala kr贸low膮, kt贸ra wyrzucona zostaje do 艣wiata ludzi, a 艣mier膰 babci obluzowuje przej艣cia mi臋dzy krainami. To b臋dzie pierwsza pr贸ba dla Tiffany - wojna z elfami nie jest bowiem tym, czego by chcia艂a. Najpierw jednak musi mie膰 po swojej stronie wszystkie czarownice i Geoffreya - kt贸ry czarownic膮 chcia艂by by膰.

Ta ksi膮偶ka zosta艂a napisana z zamys艂em podsumowania - Pratchett zostawia czytelnika z pokojowym przes艂aniem. Tylko jedno艣膰 pomo偶e przetrwa膰 i zwyci臋偶y膰. Tylko Nac Mac Feegle s膮 takie, jakie by艂y zawsze.
To przes艂anie ma swoje korzenie ju偶 w wielu poprzednich tomach, gdy gobliny czy wilko艂aki zosta艂y dopuszczone do 艣wiata ludzi. Tolerancja i empatia to cechy, kt贸re pomog膮 zwyci臋偶y膰 nad samolubnymi, egoistycznymi elfami.

Beautiful.  I cried, multiple times. I have loved the Tiffany aching series for so long and reread them so many times, but never finished the final book. Terry's goodbye to us all, we love you, gnu terry Pratchett 鉂わ笍
