Thank you to NetGalley and the publisher for the arc!

This book was amazing! The characters were so well-written, and the character’s relationships and emotions were very realistic and great to read. The novel's plot was very fast-paced - I read this book in a little under a day. The omniscient narration style was the perfect choice for the story, and I felt that it made the story much easier to follow; it was also incredibly well written. The writing style was very atmospheric, and I loved it so much! The setting of the story was also very interesting. It was easy to comprehend, even without much prior knowledge of the time period, which was great. Overall I loved this book, and I’d definitely recommend it!!

everyone should have a friend who they can trust 100% with book recommendations and I am so glad to have Becca as that friend or I would have never found this!! loved it loved it but I think I would have preferred reading it as a real book instead of an audiobook because there is a lot happening!!

Oh, this book was so good. So endearing and so hopeful and sweet. The characters were incredibly well drawn, the trouble they got into felt real and pressing, and the historical settings were so interesting. I absolutely loved it. I did feel like I spent a lot of the book wishing Ash and Uriel could just talk, but the resolution was so heartwarming and satisfying that I don't think I would have changed it.

For sensitive readers, there are some scenes that can be kind of scary, including some supernatural happenings. I didn't feel that it was scary, but wanted to put it out there for others just in case.
