This is another great Eric Carle book. It follows a day in the life of a spider. It's cute, and enjoyable with Eric's custom illustration style.
I am glad to have this in my children's library.

I have the board book version of this book. In it, the spider web, spider, and fly are all slightly raised so that a child can use sense of touch to follow along with the story. The illustrations are classic Eric Carle, of course. Another neat thing about this particular book is that it features a story within a story (pay attention to the fly!), which is considered one of the identifying factors of a great picture book.

This book is one of those that you can read to a wide age range on-on-one, but only to older toddlers and preschoolers in a group. My baby cousin (8 months) had me read it to her 99 times, and she loved it, but I would never read it to a group of 8-month-olds. Books like this are somewhat sad for those of us who almost always read to groups.

Nice and fun, excellent for learning words for animals and their voices.

This story is about a hardworking spider who works all day to spin her web. She ignores all the other animals that want her to play with them and instead focuses on her work. Throughout the story we see the progression of her web. I especially liked the raised texture of the spider, web and fly.
