It’s very engaging and well-paced, but the ‘character development’ seems quite simplified. Don’t read much into it or take it too seriously and it’ll be fun.

So good. Maybe even better than the first one. The realism of being German after the war was stunning and the jumps between the timelines were done perfectly.
Can be read as a standalone and HIGHLY recommended.

Haven’t read a book properly in a long time as have been unable to concentrate. Picked this one up and read the whole thing very quickly. Excellent storytelling, loved the reveals here and there. Very much enjoyed it and highly recommend, especially if you’ve read The Boy the Striped Pyjamas.
