I'm afraid I have this book categorised as "Gave-up-on" because I just could not get on with the style, content, and perhaps worst, the physical layout of the text with dense print and huge paragraphs. It's only a short philosophical treatise about time and related matters, but sadly I could not engage with the writing and felt that my life is too short to struggle with something like this. It's the first time I've ever tried to read philosophy (this volume was referred to in another book that I read recently). I think the general category of writing is not for me!

Dry. Sometimes felt like he was talking in circles, but i think that must just have been the language of the time. Overall its interesting to see that we are still plagued by similar "vices" and "trials".... life is just a cycle repeating itself over and over.

Likely if I traced out a lot of the ideas herein I would find them repeated and transmuted through a great deal of what I have read before, so much of this seems so familiar, and it is always a comfort to find you share the thoughts with those who are held up as exemplary, but holy moses does Seneca belabor his points. A little rhetorical rigor would have killed you?
