Full of wisdom but it was alright. Took me a while to finish such a short book.
Prendre conscience de la brièveté de la vie et chercher ardemment à s'émanciper de tout ce qui nous empêche d'être maitre du peu de temps dont nous disposons. Encore un bouquin qui invite à être aware du moment présent, conscient du gâchis plus ou moins conscient de nos vies, des servitudes volontaires, des habitudes, des renoncements. J'avais besoin de ce genre de discours qui donne de l'élan. Tout ça est dit avec des mots très simples, c'est fluide à lire, concret. J'aurais pu ranger ce bouquin parmi ceux qui changent la vie mais c'est sûrement à moi de trouver les solutions. C'est déjà beaucoup d'aider à la prise de conscience.

Not a bad read. It was certainly difficult however. At some point I'll have to go through it again.
A bit lecturey, but I guess that's the point. And yes, it is incredible how incredibly immediate Seneca's lecture TED talk teachings feel, given this was written 2,000 years ago. I credit some of that to the superb translation, as well as, of course, the timelessness of Seneca and Stoicness. Indeed, I was surprised these past few days how often I'd be either reading the book and immediately applying it to some present-day issue in my own life, or how often I'd be living my life and then think suddenly, "Oh my God, I'm doing exactly what Seneca said!"
