I loved this book so much! But having read the Shadow and Bone trilogy with it's highly disappointing ending, I'm afraid to start the second.

I really wanted to love this, but I just couldn't get into it. I'm not big on heist stories to begin with, but I loved Shadow and Bone, so I thought, if I could get into the characters, I'd love it. Out of six POV characters, I really only liked following along with two and just waited until I got to their parts, but the overall story still never grabbed me. Made it halfway, but decided to stop. If I wasn't into it by that point, it was time to put it down.

I was not expecting that twist at the end of the book. Cus I thought it would go how characters thought it would like. So I’m glad it was something different that people wouldn’t expect.

I just finished this book today and there's a reason why.

In the first half of the book, I found it hard to get through (probably the first 50 pages) but I found the characters very interesting. I actually listened to the audiobook while reading as some of the terms were hard to guess how to pronounce them and it made it more enjoyable to hear out certain scenes. If I'm being honest, I didn't see the hype when I read the first couple of chapters. So I picked up another book that sparked my interest more until I picked up this book again a month later. And boy was I wrong... When the author introduced the other characters and I started seeing the plot more clearer. I could not put this book down, I found myself reading this book till 4 in the morning and even pushed me to buy a reading light.

I don't necessarily read a lot of heist books but this one got me waiting for my amazon order for the second book to know what happens next!

I highly recommend this book if you are looking for fantasy, a little romance, and adventure. The characters have a special place in my heart already and I am ready to be broken and screaming for these characters in the next book. Wish me luck.

THIS BOOK WAS AMAZING. Read it. Just read it. It will probably be more fun if you have read the Grisha trilogy first though. I personally think this one book was probably better than the Grisha trilogy. This book had amazing writing and always kept me guessing or had plot twists that made me just take a second. And the ships. All the ships. It also had the mystery of the character's pasts and it was realistic. But I still want a Wylan POV. He is the only Dreg without a POV. Why? Oh my god this book was awesome. Can't wait until Crooked kingdom. Kaz will reck havoc.
