✨✨✨✨ 1/2

Thirty years ago,Wilde was found as a little boy living in New Jersey backwoods by himself with no memory of how he got there and no knowledge of who he was. He is now a security expert and prefers living alone. Wilde is contacted by Hester Crimstein, a television criminal attorney to find Naomi Pines, a victim of bullying at school. With very few leads to follow things start escalating fast when another kid goes missing and a severed finger arrives in a box

The Boy from the Woods is a standalone novel by author Harlan Coben. This is another action packed thriller with lots of twists & turns will keep you hooked to the end.I hope this is the start of a new series

I would like to thank Grand Central Publishing & NetGalley for providing an ARC of this book in exchange for my honest and fair review.

It was a fast read for me. I could hardly put it down. There were so many threads to this story - some connected and some you only thought were connected - that it kept me thoroughly invested and surprised by most of its twists and turns. My only regret is that this is the first book I’ve read by Harlan Coben. But I will be back.

Easy breezy read. Not my usual genre. I felt a couple things weren't wrapped up.
adventurous funny mysterious tense fast-paced

Pretty standard Harlan Coben fare: fast-paced, tense, funny when it needs to, but not without a certain degree of heart and sensitivity.

The twists are alright if not as shocking as advertised, but I wish Coben had lent more pages to developing Wilde's character. This could have been a longer, more fulfilling book if we get as much airtime with Wilde's backstory as we do with the wealthy psychopath. But I digress. I know there's a follow-up, and I'll be reading that.

Feel good, action packed, mystery

Coben at his best.

I really enjoyed this! Read the physical book. Can’t wait to get my hands on the sequel from the library holds!
