My problem with Harlen Coben is that his books develop at x1.75 the regular speed. Characters have no time to grow, conflict is so over the top it is not believable, and the plot is simple. Definitely falls in the genre of “Boomer literature.”

I’ve been wanting to read a Harlan Coben book for awhile now and I’ll definitely be reading more. This may be one of few times that I couldn’t guess who the suspect was. There’s a lot of back story and major plot points to follow between Naomi, Hester and Wilde, the Maynard’s, Eggers, etc. However, he makes them all intertwine in interesting ways and there was no point where I was bored or waiting for something to happen. Everything flowed. I’m interested to read the next book because there are still a lot of questions left to be answered
Pretty good
I was looking for something entertaining, easy, and distracting and this was all of those. Not sure I will read more here but it served its purpose.

This was a fascinating book to read. The main character is complex which made it super interesting to keep up with him as the story unfolded, and the supporting characters are just as interesting. Coben never fails to write a good mystery, and this is no exception.
There was some good stuff in this story, there was some stuff I didn't love. There are two "big" reveals at the end. I didn't love either, but I thought the first one was SUPER predictable. Theres also quite a bit that is built up for the main character that is never resolved. That being said, the idea for the main character, while gimmicky, is fairly unique. I feel like Coben originally planned for this to be a series, but didn't end up making it one.
*very mild spoiler warning*
a finger is found at the end of the first part, and that is never addressed again, that kind of bothered me.

Easy read and sucked me in, but really terrible. Bad plot, writing, flat characters. Thinly veiled references to Donald Trump. So stupid.
This book was just what I needed...crime, missing people, suspense.
I didn't have it all figured out before the end either, which is key.
