Eight Cozy Nights by Julia Wolf

I bought Eight Cozy Nights by Julia Wolf a few years ago but never got around to reading it. I'm glad I found it again on my kindle! Though it's listed as book 5 in a series, I didn't feel like I missed anything by not reading the others.

Larissa just moved into her new place when she almost broke her leg on the neighbor’s bike leaning against her door. Yo (short for Yosef) could not have felt worse, but at least he got to meet his curvy new neighbor.

Larissa noticed the mezuzah on his door, so when she found her candles but couldn’t find her menorah while unpacking, she decided to see if Yo had an extra. And so began eight nights of the holiday together.

Though this was a short read, the story felt believable and the couple actually had communication! I loved how they fought over applesauce or sour cream for the latkes (applesauce for the win!), and that it wasn’t overly religious. There is definitely some spice in this one, so if you like sexy time, you won’t be disappointed.

Rating: 4 novella stars, 4 Heat

Super short. Super steamy, but absolutely lovely. If you needed a Hannukah romance, then this is one for you. It takes place over the eight nights of Hannukah and it doesn’t skimp on the romance. Definitely one to enjoy on those cold December evenings. I got all the cozy feelings from this book and great for a little light reading this holiday season.

4.5 rounded up. FINALLY a Hannukah romance that actually includes Hannukah, spice, and still has cozy romance vibes. Bonus points for plus size STEM heroine. I don’t even care that it’s inherently instalove because it was the most enjoyable Hannukah romance I’ve read yet.

Larissa moves into the flat next to Yo and he doesn't make the best first impression, however they are both on vacay before he goes back to work and she goes back to college (she is the eternal college student) so they start to get to actually know each other during the 8 days of Hanukkah. I thought this was great how they got to know each other while following their tradition, it was a bit of insta love but Larissa was wary which gave it a more real feel and her sister is an absolute hoot! This is a great read which will make you laugh, sigh and wish there was more to read when you get to the end.

Sweet and steamy holiday romance novella. This is the first book I've read by by Julia Wolf and I'll be gloming the whole Sublime series after this! Adorable characters, great setting and side characters. And if you're looking for a holiday romance, Hanukkah is well repped in this story (not just a backdrop). #TeamApplesauce

Loved this! Short enough to mostly read in a sitting, I just love this author! She has found the absolute best ratio of heart warming, comedy, and Kindle melting heat, with the exact amount of side story needed to keep you interested yet not overwhelm you with details that are irrelevant to the story. I love Yo and his family. And such a strong spiritual guy with deep rooted beliefs. I loved seeing the devotion and faith displayed so positively without any judgment. I really liked how inclusive it felt. I feel like I got to see something that not many people of other faiths get to see. It was really insightful. Just another way thing I loved about this book and I can't wait for more stories from this author.

I received an ARC of Eight Cozy Nights from the author and I am happy to give my honest review.

I loved this book. I love anything Julia Wolf writes. She could rewrite the phonebook and I would be riveted. I especially love that this book featured Yo (Avi’s cousin from Pixie Cut) and a smart, tough doctorate student named Larissa. Yo is hilarious and I love women in STEM industries.

Larissa moved back to Baltimore for her doctorate studies and lived with her sister and family for a few months before settling into her own apartment. I really loved Larissa’s sister and her husband. The scene with the three of them hanging out by a fire had me cracking up. Larissa’s new apartment is across from Yo’s apartment and their first meeting included her falling over his bike and ripping her favorite leggings (a tragedy!!)

Yo is a hairstylist who works in his family’s salon. He has taken the week of Hanukkah off to relax and have some time for himself. He is always busy at work or helping his family. I really appreciated that Yo had a need to stay both physically and mentally busy because I’m the same way. He loves to read and learn new things as well as bike ridiculous amounts of miles.

Yo and Larissa kick it off and begin a friendship over the Hanukkah candles. I loved reading their descriptions of the latkes and history of the holiday. It sounded so magical. Their friendship evolves rapidly as they spend every waking hour together over the eight days. I found their fall into love so realistic and beautiful that I couldn’t stop smiling. Plus he took her on a date to the library. How freaking adorable is that?

"I love you, Larissa. I know it seems crazy, not going to qualify it. I just love you."

We get a quick glimpse at what’s going on with our other favorite couples from prior books. There’s lots of babies and other adorableness. I loved this book and I will continue to read anything Julia puts out.
