Hockey player story.
She works at the organization and he is a player, so they cant get involved. He ends up retiring and then they get together.
This wasnt boring but it wasnt the best of the series. Its the book that I liked the least of this series.
There wasnt much plot there, only the normal “forbidden love” troupe. They were okay characters with an okay story, nothing really special.

I love an age gap. Smith is like the kind of man that would be sent into an alternate universe where he's married and has a family during Christmas in one of those cheesy movies, like there is literally no other way to describe him. He gave up his life for the job. I feel like in some aspects that made him super mature like him understanding that Emelia needed to choose the career defining promotion but in other aspects it made him not immature but maybe just not as developed like when it comes to his feelings. Anyway they were so deep in denial I felt like I was going to drown in the bubble they created. Do I love that he gave up his career for her? not really. I get that there needed to be conflict but I was kind of hoping they would change the rule knowing how serious these two were about each other. Side note I also didn't like how they was zero contact after that conversation in the parking lot. It's just like a thing where my brain questions how they could possible be on the same page after that and I can't just shut that off no matter how much I want to. It was not as intense in the chemistry department as some of the other couples in the series. My brain kept telling me all the different times I would have walked away because it simply was not worth it.

Emilia (28) and Owen Smith(38)
Age gap, coach’s niece, dual timeline.
I will admit I mostly skimmed this book (but not the sex scenes, never those!). I think I was just tired of the same book with different characters and slightly different tropes. And this one felt a little slower than the others in the series. I want to keep reading but I’m bored with them at the same time.
The fact that they all keep saying “thank gosh” instead of thank god is so gross.
The grand gesture in this one was really cute.
3🔥 for spice because there’s more scenes than in the previous books PLUS some anal play.
