this was really fun! it was great to see my favs again, and this really set things up well for foul heart huntsman, which i’m super excited for!
the two stories in this book were short stories so there wasn’t that much complexity but that was fully to be expected due to the length, and i still feel like there was just enough to make this book worth reading before fhh comes out.
glad i read this, and i can’t wait to see all of the characters who didn’t appear in the stories!

I usually tend to avoid novellas but having read Foul Lady Fortune quite recently, I really wanted to know more of the story, particularly when I found out exactly what these stories were about. The blurb itself is a huge giveaway, so I suppose there’s not much more I can say that would be a spoiler on top of that.
Seeing Roma and Juliette in such a happy and peaceful life was so amazing after the events of Our Violent Ends, almost as good as knowing they’re still alive. Of course, even a quiet life involves an illegal business for these two, which draws them right back into the chaos that unfolds in Foul Lady Fortune as these novellas run in parallel to that plot.
This is the exact twist in the tale I had hoped to see at the end of Our Violent Ends, and I’m so excited for the next book, Foul Heart Huntsman to see how the events of this book will impact the main storyline. Highly recommended!

Definitely read this right after Foul Lady Fortune!! I loved getting reacquainted with characters from the initial duology. Love them.
